Taking the mantle of supplying all set requirements and technical production services required flawless planning and communication between our team of inhouse and freelance experts. We assembled a crew of over 40 specialists who contributed to pre-build preparation, or through the challenging 36 hour load in-show-load out schedule.
Over 175 lighting fixtures created a 1920’s jazz club vibe. Fixtures such as Portmans, Pickle Patts, Sunstrips used warm, tungsten hues, setting a sophisticated tone. 18 truss-mounted rotating mirrorballs added movement and personality to the design, with Robe remote followspots illuminating John Legend during the performance.
We specified and supplied audio technology for the reception room and auditorium. Our systems consisted of speakers and amps, microphones, mixing desks and Pioneer DJ setups. We provided a grand piano, with onstage microphones fed to John Legend’s audio engineer, before being reintegrated back into our system and out to the speakers.
Our rigging engineers calculated load-bearing capacities, mapping out 36 rigging points within the Old Billingsgate roof. Once onsite, we installed over 155m of truss and a 6M diameter truss circle above the stage. We suspended 18 rotating mirrorballs from the rig and supplied the circular stage from which John Legend performed.
In close collaboration with Invyte, we designed and built all the set required for the event. We interpreted their creative direction to produce six food stalls, two DJ booths and a large island bar for the centre of the main reception room. Each item was built from high-quality fireproof timber, with printed backdrops supplied for branding on each food counter.
The creative vision for the summit required a more luxurious floor than the bare concrete surface of Old Billingsgate. Invyte asked us to take care of it. So, we supplied and fitted over 1200m2 of dark green carpet throughout both rooms, which included cutting more than 350 holes to accommodate the venue’s air conditioning system.
